( Roma-23.04.2010 ) The Franciscan Friars of the Atonement’s for Christian Unity is pleased to host a presentation of the paper “Justification in Life of the Church. A Report from the Lutheran-Catholic Dialogue Group for Sweden and Finland” by Bishop Eero Huovinen, Lutheran Bishop of Helsinki.

It will be held on Monday, 26 April 2010 at “Centro Pro Unione”, Via Santa Maria dell’Anima 30, 1st floor, followed by a brief moment of prayer.

The document is a result of an intense seven years work of delegates from Lutheran and Catholic Churches of Finland and Sweden. It builds a relevant step in the process of reception of the historic Lutheran-Catholic Agreement on Justification, as well as a further sign of the vitality of ecumenical dialogue in various contexts, and the common desire toward a full and clear unity.

The Preface of the document is signed by the Lutheran Bishop of Helsinki Eero Houvinen and the Catholic Bishop of Stockholm Anders Arborelius. It would be an inspiration for the churches to receive, along with the justification in Christ on a fuller communion with God, also a progress in the reflection on ecclesiological and sacramental.

It is a document accepted with joy, especially in welcoming the celebration of the centenary of the birth of the ecumenical movement to be held in Edinburgh 2-6 June 2010.
